Sweet, sweet Lucie (in the green) and her darling daughter (the one with the braids in white) were baptized Saturday!

Oh my beloved Zoetermeer. We planned a dinner appointment with familie R van E for 5pm, and we left Breda at 2:20pm (plenty of time to get to Den Haag and then Zoetermeer) but because of wonderful TRAINS, we didn´t get to Zoetermeer until 6:25pm, and the baptism started at 7pm. So, basically, it was a rushed dinner, game/spiritual-thought, and then out the door running to the church building.
I bawled. I never, ever thought I could miss that blessed ward more than my home ward, but for just a moment, sitting next to Misha RvE, singing “I am a Child of God” in Dutch, in the Zoetermeer chapel…I cried and cried and cried. Seeing Lucie and Rosanne in their white clothing, seeing Lucie´s husband, who had a heartattack five days ago and was hospitalized and received permission from the Church to Skype-in on the baptism service, on the computer screen, seeing their son Thomas (who is 14 and was baptized last Oct.), and seeing other precious people……… I felt Heavenly Father´s love for that ward and those people and that family so much, it overwhelmed me. I know it doesn´t take much to make me cry, but, I was crying pretty hard. It was such a blessing to be a part of that baptism. Before they were baptized, I snuck in and gave them both hugs. Lucie and I have had so many good talks about the gospel and why she loves her family and how she knew from day one, 8 years ago, that she needed to be a member. We´ve talked about the blessings of the temple and of families and of the Gospel. She loves it so much. Now she has the Holy Ghost and she and her daughter can share a special day and next year, they can be sealed together forever! It was a hard goodbye, but a wonderful welcome and hello and hugs and tears. Special moments that I will never, ever forget. Wow.
The Gospel blesses families. Lucie and Rosanne are now baptized! Her husband had a bypass yesterday and is supposed to be recovering well. Thomas is doing a wonderful job becoming a righteous young man, and the Zoetermeer Ward is as strong and special to me and the Lord as ever:)
We just received transfer calls!  I’m staying in Breda, Zr. Robbins is going to Gent.  My new comp will be Zuster Jaramillo!

Sarindi is getting baptized on 24 May! Ah! This man is so golden. I do not mean that lightly or casually: I mean it full-heartedly. He is so good.

We had a lesson with him Sunday with our new ward mission leader at the ward mission leader´s house and…wow. A bond formed between these two and it was very special to see how the Spirit filled the room. Normally, we´ve taught Sarindi with antoher sister at the church, but yesterday was amazing. I have never ever felt the spirit so strongly as I did during that lesson. These two big men are crying and Zr Robbins and I jus tlook at each other and we both thought “is this really happening? Are we really a part of this?” Wow.

It is absolutely amazing to see the change in people. You think you get it with someone, but I watched Sarindi walk into the church building on 26 April and I can´t wait to see him walk into the waters of baptism on 24 May. He is a gift. He told us he wants to be a missionary like us some day and that he wants to endure as long and through as many hard things as the Lord would have him endure, if he can only get to the celestial kingdom and see his Heavenly Father.

His prayers…..His prayers are SO SINCERE! It´s truly amazing what this man has done in his life in the past month to change his life. He loves this gospel so much, he studies from the Book of Mormon 2 hours a day! Ah! He prays for protection every moment and writes down his prayers when he thinks it isn´t safe to say them outloud or look like he´s praying. Wow. He´s amazing.

And! Lucie and Rosanne are getting baptized this Saturday 23 May! We get to go back to Zoetermeer!!!!! Yayayaaayayayayay!

love you all!

Life! is great

Jessica and Becky Jachau

Wow, the mission……

Skype! was just amazing:) I loved it. It was hard to say goodbye, then figure out that I should´ve listend to my family more than talk (I´m always talking……..:/ ) but, it was great. Zr Robbins and I sang for them and it was wonderful to see my family smile:)
Rivers! Oh man, we had to cross this river and we decided instead of going around, we would just jump the rocks:) lovely idea. Almost slipped, but didn´t. Ha! Crazy times, but great times. Talk about courage. I can go knock doors for 3 hours and have people say no only so many times, but I can’t make a tiny jump to the next boulder….. wow. Yeah, that was a great day.

Baptisms! Wow. We have two prepared people who want to be baptized on the 24 of May. So cool! I am so excited. So excited. They are such good men who want to come closer to God. I am excited to see where it leads! Teaching these miracle men makes me realize how precious the prepared people really are. It brings tears to my eyes (as most things do nowadays) to think about them and their journey to God. They even corrected a member who had said “I know the Church is true” to “I know the Gospel is true” Wow. They are SO COOL! Man, I can’t handle it. Each lesson is bam bam bam of amazing moments. Ah! These two best friends have changed my life because they are willing to change theirs.
Life! is great! Wow, Breda is bee-you-tee-full. Amazing. I really hope I stay here a long time. It’s quite miraculous. haha….
love you all!

Cookies and Miracles

Cookies
First, the cookies….

Apparently I make really good cookies. HA! For district leader council, the zone leaders asked me to make some. So we did. They were flat and ugly and just terrible, but tasted good!  I called my mission mother, Zr Thomas, and she said I needed more baking soda. So I added a little bit to the new batter and voila! beautiful “outrageous” (according to one of the zone leaders) cookies. It was hilarious making them. 4 batches of terrible, 3 batches of outrageous:) hahahaha, good times….

Then the miracle!
Zr Robbins, Zr Jauchau and jess in Breda

Zr Juchau!!! I love this woman, my friend and sister. She came to Breda with her cute mama and helped me so much just with her smile, testimony, Dutch, and laugh. Man, I love her. I needed her hugs. She was a wonderful teacher and I can tell she just wants to be a missionary. I´d take her for a companion in less than a heartbeat. We talked with a man named Mohammed with her and her mother as a joint teach! ah! It was so cool–she had met him about a year ago when she served in Breda!
